  March 03, 2008 Muscatine Swim Club Banquet Information The 2008 Muscatine Swim Club Banquet will be held on Thursday, March 6 at 6:00 pm in the Muscatine High School Commons. Pizza and desert will be provided. Each family should bring there own table settings and a liter of pop or juice to share. Anyone involved with the Muscatine Swim Club is invited to attend. After the Swim Club banquet is over there will be an informational meeting for interested parents on the Spring and Summer swimming options being considered. Thank-you, Muscatine Swim Club Board February 22, 2008 There will be no 6:30 - 8 pm practice on Friday, February 22. The 5 - 6:30 pm practice will take place as scheduled and kids who usually practice at 6:30 are welcome to practice at 5:00. February 21, 2008 There will be no practice on Thursday, February 21 at 4-5 or 5-6:30 due to a Junior High home swim meet. The 6:30-8 pm practice will take place as scheduled or immediately following the swim meet. February 19, 2008 There will be no 6:30 - 8 pm practice on Tuesday, February 19. The 5 - 6:30 pm practice will take place as scheduled and kids who usually practice at 6:30 are welcome to practice at 5:00. February 12, 2008 - UPDATE Practice times for STATE qualifying swimmers as follows: 4-5 pm 10 & under 5-6:30 pm 11 & up with Dave Moeller 6:30-8 pm with Bob Calegan February 5, 2008 Muscatine area schools will be dismissed early because of inclement weather. There will be no swim practice tonight. ATTENTION 8 and Under swimmers We will practice the rest of this week (Wednesday - Friday) at the high school pool from 4:30 - 5:30. Any questions please call or email Ellen. January 29, 2008 All Club Swimmers are invited to attend a small meet this Saturday morning 2/2/08 at 9:00 a.m. at the MHS pool. This will not be officiated and there will not be any ribbons awarded. We will use stop watch times and allow each swimmer to swim all events. There will be a 25 yard event in each stroke for the 8 and Under age group and 50 yard events for all other age groups. Swimmers will compete against swimmers in their own age groups and will be placed into heats, by the coaches, based on times. We encourage all swimmers not swimming out of town this Saturday to come and compete, as this will be the last time before Sectionals the following Sunday. We also will need parents to volunteer to run the stop watches for each lane. Any parent interested in helping out can e-mail Coach Dave at dlmoelle@muscatine.k12.ia.us Thank you for your help!

The Meet scheduled for 2/2/08 at Carver Pool in Muscatine has been cancelled due to the invitational meets at Pella and Marshalltown. January 07, 2008
9-10 Age Group -NO PRACTICE on Tuesday, January 8th and Thursday, January 10th. There are Boys High School swim meets at the pool those nights. 11-12 Age Group- NO PRACTICE on Tuesday, January 8th. There is a High School meet that night. Practice on Thursday, January 10th will be from 4:00-5:00 before the High School meet. 13-Up Age Group- PRACTICE on Tuesday, January 8th and Thursday, January 10th will be after the High School Boys swim meet. Approx. 8:00-9:00. January 04, 2008 December 26, 2007 December 18, 2007 12/20- NO PRACTICE for 9-10 and 11-12 age groups. There is a High School meet. 12/21- Regular practice schedule 12/24 & 12/25- NO PRACTICE 12/26-12/28- Regular practice schedule 12/31 & 1/1- NO PRACTICE 1/2- Regular practice resumes December 04, 2007 9-10 Age Group -NO PRACTICE on Thursday, December 6th. There is a Boys High School swim meet at the pool that night. 11-Up- PRACTICE on Thursday, December 6th will begin after the High School meet. Be at the pool around 7:30 so that we can start right after the meet. Practice will be finished around 9:00. November 27, 2007 The YMCA pool is closed for a few days because of maintenance issues. While the YMCA pool is closed the 8 and under swimmers will practice at the high school pool at the following time: MWF swimmers from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and TTh swimmers from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. November 19, 2007 The YMCA pool is experiencing filtration problems therefore there will be NO Monday (11/19) or Tuesday (11/20) practices for the 8 and under swimmers. November 15, 2007 Friday practice time for the 13 and UP swimmers has changed. NO PRACTICE - Wednesday, November 21st There will be a practice on Saturday November 24th at 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for interested swimmers. October 31, 2007 Happy Halloween!Muscatine Swim Club Practice Times Click below for the practice times for next week. Practice Times - 2007-2008 Please remember that this will be the first week of practice and practice times are subject to change. We will be evaluating numbers especially on Wednesday night. There is a possibility that the 11 & 12's and the 13 & up's practice times will need to be separated on Wednesday night, but at least for the first week of practice these two age groups will be together on Wednesday. We might also combine the Friday practices for 11 & 12's and 13 & up's once the basketball games start on Friday nights. Also because of age group numbers there is an opportunity for a limited number of 12 year olds to swim with the 13 & up's. Please let me know if there is any interest as these requests will be handled by the board and coaches. Please look over the practice times and try to have your swimmers dressed and on the pool deck by their designated times.
